Rookie of the Year

Recipients of the Rookie of the Year Award from 2006 to the Present.

The Julie Allen Rookie of the Year Award recognizes a new member of our organization who has picked up on responsibilities quickly and has become a part of their unit 'team' as well as the larger Reeve/Dining organization. 

This award honors Julie Allen who was a University staff member dedicated to making students feel welcomed, valued and an important part of our organization.  Julie made hundreds of students feel a part of the team through her position as Building Operations Manager.  Julie worked for Reeve Union until she retired in June 2011.

2012 – Sarah Tritch, Student Employment Coordinator

Sarah jumped into her position excited to learn about the student employment program.  She met with student employee groups and assisted with training of those staff members.  Sarah’s experience allowed her to fully plan the recognition program as well as coordinate training for the entire student staff.  Sarah’s brings new ideas and energy to the student employment program.

2011 – Leah Rebne, Volunteerism Programming Assistant

Leah approaches her work with 100% of her effort.  Her three major projects are the fall & Spring Hands on Oshkosh and two ASB Trivia nights.  These programs have grown in magnitude under Leah’s supervision. Her work has provided roughly 600 people with the opportunity to volunteer.  She is a student who goes above & beyond because she understands the importance of what she does and its significance to the University and Oshkosh community.

 

2010 - Mai Yeng Xiong, Student Leadership & Involvement Attendant

Mai is reliable and always willing to help her co-workers and customers as much as possible. Taking initiative and paying strong attention to detail has helped her develop into a great employee. Mail has become a leader by setting the perfect example.

Sam has true talent and is able to bring a new vision to his department.  Because of his invested interest in his work he raises the quality of everything he participates in.  He continues to impress his department with his initiative, work and ability to work great under stressful situations.

Jenna's positive attitude and good spirit were infectious, and made her a pleasure to be around. Her good attitude along, with the ability to work hard, made any task and shift go better, more quickly and more smoothly.

Robbie was extremely reliable, coming in at least 10 minutes before a scheduled shift to makes certain everything was as it should be before opening. He made great suggestions for improvement and customers loved him!

Jason was a very fast learner and took his work seriously. He handled himself in a very mature and professional manner and was always willing to help on big projects with a smile.

After only four months on the job, Lacie was taking on the most challenging projects in the department. If she couldn't find an image or look she wanted, she would create one by shooting her own photos or drawing the design. She created our Dragonboat logo.

2005 - Nycol Block, Reservation Assistant

Nycol caught on very quickly to the detail required when working reservations. She noticed when things needed to be done and took the initiative to take care of them.
